Japan 5.27.2012

We left for our last walk in Tokyo around 7am on Sunday morning before heading to the airport later that day. We took Sarah for a tour around the Imperial Palace grounds.

A guard with a stick.

Rod is asking if we can walk behind the guard. The guard said:"Sorry." Rod took it as a "No". Later we found out that yes, it would have been okay.

Last breakfast in Tokyo. A breakfast with a view.

I will miss my ferns and thistles for breakfast.

Then it was time to get our luggage and head to the airport via the airport train. We had to pull our luggage to the depths of the train station to catch the Narita Express. What a handy and fast way to travel. Rod got off first at the Terminal 1 because he was continuing his trip to Taiwan for a few days. Sarah and I went to the terminal 2 and went to lunch before getting on our flight to Seattle.

Last lunch at the Narita airport. Soba noodles with "grated yams". We started eating the noodles and the waitress ran over to tell us to STOP because we were not eating them the right away. We had to put the noodles into the yams bowl and then eat them from there. Who knew! It was delicious and different.

Last trip to the Japanese toilet. Flushing Sound button had to be pushed to find out what it was all about. Well, it was a flushing sound. How clever.

We had such an incredible trip to Japan. I loved every moment and will look forward to the next one.  Hopefully soon. I want Alex to see and experience it as well.
