Kalle and Kimmo's Excellent American Adventure-Saturday

Saturday morning we headed up the American Fork canyon to the Williams' cabin. Alex had been there 2 days already so we wanted to go up there for a nice hike and a lunch. It was a quick visit because we had to get down to Orem and the Stadium of Fire that night.

Relaxing inside the cabin: Taylor, Alex, Rod and Maya sitting on the floor.

Hiking up the hill: Kimmo, Rod, Kalle, Heather, Steve, Katie. Front row: Alex, Taylor, Maya and Carsen

Kalle, Carsen, Rod, Alex and Kimmo (Steve taking the picture) made it to the top while Katie and I went down to prepare the lunch.

I had purchased tickets to the Stadium of Fire many moons ago and knew that Kalle and Kimmo would be here so we all got to go. Carrie Underwood was the headliner so we knew it was going to be a great concert and a show. We sat on the 4th row and had great seats.

Still waiting for the show to start. Kalle, Kimmo, Elle and Alex

Elle and Alex waiting for the show to start.

I'm ready for the show too.

Kalle is ready for the show. And yes, that is Alan Osmond sitting behind Elle in a blue shirt. He has MS so he walks with a cane.

Girls with balls and flags running around the field.

Because it is a Scouting Centennial this year, there were a lot of scouts around.

The Flyover is always touching.

The main show finally started and Carrie Underwood (American Idol winner 5 years ago, and this year's Entertainer of the Year) didn't disappoint.

After the concert we had a fabulous fireworks show that went on forever.

We got home in 6 minutes. That's pretty awesome when there were 50,000 people in the audience and everyone wanted to get home at the same time. We are just that good.

This makes me homesick for Provo, which is a spectacular place to be over the 4th.
