Kalle and Kimmo's Excellent American Adventure-Wednesday

"Lagoon, where the fun is" is where we spent the Wednesday afternoon. Lagoon is an amusement/water park north from Salt Lake. We arrived late afternoon and the lines to the rides didn't seem to be that long. That was a nice surprise.

Because Kalle was still nursing his back, he didn't dare to do any rides. I decided to keep him company while Kimmo, Alex and Elle went and rode all the rides.

Kimmo, Alex and Elle on "Wild Mouse". I would call that "Barf City", but that's just me.

Next one was "Colossus". Again, "Barf City" for me, but you figured out that already, right?

Two thumbs up from Alex, and a smile from Kimmo. Colossus must have been a wild ride.

It was another hot day (96 F, 35 C) so it was time for some shave ice. Here Alex is enjoying his Tigersblood Snowie.

Elle got a cone full of ice.

Kalle and Kimmo tasting their first Snowie with Lemon Lime.

"Cliffhanger" got Alex and Elle totally wet.

Swings were the safe way for Kalle and me to enjoy at least one ride. Unfortunately we both were totally barfy after it. Here are Elle and Alex, the best friends, ready to swing...and not be nauseous. LUCKY!

Kimmo probably thinks that swings are totally lame, but he was such a good sport. Alex swung into the picture. Nice!

Kalle before feeling sick to his stomach.

Alex and Elle on the people mover.

Kalle and Kimmo on the people mover.

"The Rocket" definitely is a barf ride but Elle, Alex and Kimmo didn't think so.

THEN THE POWER WENT OUT IN THE PARK! WHAT!!!!!

What to do when the rides are not going and the ice cream stand is closed?? You take the only ride that is going, the kiddie train that goes around the animal park, and then you take exact change to the ice cream stand so you can cool off with a nice cup of Dippin' Dots.

Kimmo and Kalle, so excited about going on the train ride.

Enthusiastic Alex and beautiful Elle.

Our friend Tai and her 4 kids got to the park right when the power went out. So we took the train ride with them. Shortly after we left to drive home. What a fun day even though the power was out.

I love the Colossus! I remember when it was a brand new ride. The swings make me barfy and so do merry go rounds and ferris wheels, but not rollercoasters. I adore rollercoasters. I also take a Bonine now that I am old, to ensure my stomach stays put.

In Louisiana the snowcones are called Snowballs and EVERY.ONE. thinks they dropped straight out of heaven.
