Friday after work we decided to go to downtown Provo to walk around the Freedom Festival. Alex had gone to the Williams cabin, so it was just 4 of us. Center Street in downtown Provo was full of people and booths and food and stuff and...we sampled some of the necessary goods, for example, mini donuts (that tradition goes back to Minnesota in the early 80s when I went to the State Fair and was introduced to them...oh, so good), and cinnamon-sugar pecans and almonds. We didn't really want to eat the food from the booths so we went across the street to Gloria's and had an Italian dinner. We were SO full after dinner, that we decided to drive to Springville to fetch a chocolate cake from Magelby's.

We had to stop and listen to the bag pipes, Rod's favorite. His pretend Scottish heritage comes through every time when the tear flow when he listens to the bag pipes.

You know, my bff's (from High School) kids, brothers, etc all play the bagpipes and they are in some ... group or something. If you ever want to give Rod a gift he won't forget - like a llama ride while bagpipes play - then I can hook you up with the bagpipes.
