Oysters and Chocolate Cake

I know, I know, you are now saying "but she doesn't like chocolate cake!!!" True, very true actually. But there is only one chocolate cake I can stomach and it happens to be at Magelby's in Provo.

So. On Friday night we finally went to celebarate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We started the evening with the latest Bond movie. It was ok. Not great. I have to go see it again and then when it comes out on a DVD, I have to turn on the subtitles. British English is the worst!

Then. After the movie and extremely salty pop corn (the new Cinemark by the mall), we headed down to Magelby's for late evening snack. We happen to love Oysters Rockefellar at Magelby's. If you haven't tried them, please give them a try (picture below).

Conspiracy:
I swear I have a tattoo on my forehead that says:"please seat me extremely close to an air-conditioning unit" because, once again, I was shivering like crazy while the a/c was blowing straight at me. This was the first time I saw the restaurant provide a portable heater to a table nearby that happened to have 8 old folks, mostly women sitting in it. I was jealous. I wanted the heater. Didn't get it. The oysters kept me warm. Maybe in 30 years I'm eligible for a heater.

To crown the evening, we ordered a slice of chocolate cake. Another amazing food at the restaurant. The cake height is about 10-12 inches and it has 3 huge layers with lots and lots of homemade frosting on it. I scooped the frosting off, of course. I don't like frosting. But the raspberry sauce and the ice-cream provided an incredible explosion of chocolaty taste.

It was a nice evening with just my hubby and without his cell phone.

Huge plate of Oysters (half eaten before the picture was taken.

Yum-o!

Happy Anniversary! What, no hot air balloon this year?

You are making me hungry! That cake looks like HEAVEN! I wish we had a Magelby's up this way. YUMMO! I love their breadsticks and their hot fudge brownies that are about three feet tall. So good!

Wow, twenty-two years! I'm glad you decided to join this family even if we are a little wierd. I'm also glad you had such a great night and though I don't think the chocolate cake looks all that great (Peter would love it) the oysters do look good.
