Things that make you say hmmm....in San Francisco

Chinese Dentist, anyone?

Dinner in Chinatown. Not sure what the little creatures are on the bed of rice, but that half lemon slice makes it all better.

"Oriental" (not electric) Slide in the park early Sunday morning. There was no music but the leading lady sang a pretty Chinese song, I'm sure a popular among these lovely ladies.

Rod and I on the cable car. Nothing unusual there. Click on the picture and see the girl who is on my left side. What's that stuff on her upper lip? Frosting?

Rock stacking in Sausalito. Truly an art form. Didn't get close enough to see if there were numbers on these rocks, and if the dude stacks them the same way each morning. These were so amazing.

We also visited this weird pharmacy-grocery store in Chinatown that had all of the walls covered with glass jars. Some of them contained swallow's nests in various colors, deer antlers, all kinds of mushrooms, shark fins and other items that were written in Chinese. Truly a weird, weird place. We bought some wasabi peas from there...decided to stay with a safe choice.

I also wanted to show you Rod's heaven, the cheese counter. Rod bought 2 small slices of stinky cheese, $30.

Our whole trip was a blast. Jenn and Kip are so much fun to travel with. More fun will be had in two weeks when we travel to their house in San Diego for a whole week.

If someone asked me to really ponder deeply, and come up with what I thought was the most foul smell on the planet? I'd say stinky cheese. I'd rather clean up baby puke and poo all day long than to smell stinky cheese. All other cheeses? Sign me up.

I just can't get used to the animals hanging in the windows. I mean, where is the food inspector? How do they keep the food fresh? My sister has a deli, you know, and they can't do that! (Not that they would.)

The rock stacking is SO COOL!!

I tried wasabi icecream at Cold Stone once and had to gargle with Listerine for 30 minutes to get rid of the taste.

maybe that lady got mold on her face? I don't know, but why would want to go out in public... let alone a place such as big as San Fran and then have that big blob of whiteness on your face?
Seriously!

Okay, so the creatures on the rice...They look like frogs. Seriously, I couldn't eat something when it's butt was staring me in the face.

The rock stacks...That is awesome! Some people are so creative, and I want to know what his job is and how he has that much time on his hands.

About the cheese...Have you ever seen the "Everybody Loves Raymond" with the suitcase and the stinky cheese? Oh yeah, leave your suitcase out until he puts it away and leave him some stinky cheese in it. Maybe it will really stink the next time Rod goes on a vacation. Hehehe.

And the girl with the stuff on her face...She looks about as excited as she would be after making out with a rabid dog. You never know what you'll see in San Francisco.
