Alex and Rod at the back of our ship
Basseterre, St.Kitts welcome center.
We are ready to fly through the forest.
We drove in a 22 person bus about 20 minutes up to the mountain and unloaded by an old rum distillery.
The scenery was magnificent. The day was gorgeous, hot and humid. Just the way I like it.
The old Romney Manor and Rum Distillery.
Aren't those lovely helmets? They were disgustingly stinky and my head smelled like millions of people's heads who had worn the helmet before me. And no, I didn't think I would wear a helmet so I didn't bring a hat for afterwards. Luckily there were no pictures after. Rod got me a rubber band, though, so I wouldn't look like such a disaster for the rest of the day. The rubber band really didn't help.
Alex is practising on the practise zip line.
Rod's taking instruction from the guy.
Then it was time to bus us up the mountain through a rocky and bumpy road.
Who got to go first? ME!
The zip line was the funnest experience ever.
Alex and Rod loved it, too.
Did I mention that the harness was stinky too. But it really didn't affect our speed.
All done. We survived the most fun zip line ever.
After 1,400 feet and 4 ziplines later, we walked through a path that took us up to the Caribelle Batik factory. After a short demonstration how batik is made, we got to look through the gift shop. Alex bought some stuff for his "ladies".
After we were bussed back to the port, Rod wanted to find another watch. He got a great deal on another Bulova watch that he couldn't refuse. Sporty Bulova finds home.
