Turkey Day

Our turkey day started with the churning of the home made ice-cream.

For dessert: Mom's kiss..the pies were good too.

Mother and son.

Southwestern sunrise

We drove all night on Tuesday to New Mexico for Thanksgiving. We saw a beautiful sunrise when we got to mom and dad's house.

Jorge said that he can't sleep in the car and wouldn't take a pillow with him. A few hours into the 12 hour drive he was totally asleep. He kept saying that the roads are so much straighter and better than in Mexico, and didn't get sick in the car at all. Right here he is sleeping like a baby.

Still asleep when we drove to mom and dad's.

First thing we do in New Mexico is get breakfast burritos from Burger Time. They are the BEST!

Game # 2-Win # 2

Alex's basketball game on Monday ended to Mountain View's win against American Fork 36-35. Yay for Mountain View!

Friday Night Proposal

We went to dinner at Sundance last night with Katie and Steve. We had such a fun time discussing politics (touchy subject), health care, and sports. While Katie, Steve and Rod were discussing these favorite subjects of mine, I was paying attention what was going on in the next table.

Katie showing how much she loves us.

Steve is happy to be eating trout.

Rod is contemplating who is going to win tomorrow...BYU or Utah.

Then it was time for dessert.

I could have gotten this beauty but it was all chocolate and I'm not a fan of chocolate desserts.

Apple pie looked good, too, but I was not in the mood.

YES!!! Bread pudding with banana and chocolate chip. That was my choice. You know, if there's bread pudding on the menu, I'm having it.

So, while we were having dinner and dessert, this young couple was having their own little proposal party. I couldn't help but hear what they, or he, was saying and after she received the ring, the guy (from Peru) said to his now fiancee:"You are so beautiful and I love you, but now you are more beautiful with that ring on." And she ate it up (am I being sarcastic?) It turned out that the couple MET 2 weeks ago, and now were getting engaged. I started wondering if the dude needed a green card that bad. Well, I wish them luck, but it seemed like they were strangers to each other.

On Saturday I was telling Alex: "Can you believe the couple got engaged after 2 weeks!" Alex coolly responded by saying:"Well, you got engaged after 5 days!" I guess I shouldn't judge, huh.

Maya came to visit

Last night our friend Heather brought her daughter Maya over for a brief visit. We had so much fun with her even though she was scared of Rod, Miia and the stuffed animals. She loved the balls in the basket, and the silly "hats" (soccer sideline cones). We hope to see her soon.

Good to be inside the box

Last night we got to go to the Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns game. We were able to sit in the box and enjoy the fun atmosphere and a good view...the food was good, too.

It was fun for Alex because he was able to see Shaq and Steve Nash for the first time in person.

Phoenix Suns suffered an eclipse and went home with a loss of 109-97.

Introduction of Jazz players.

Shaq (walking towards the camera) made 9 points and retirement should be in his near future.
