Not heard at boys' basketball game

Tonight was our ward's first Young Women's basketball game. Eventhough we had only 2 players there from our ward, the 5th ward filled in the gaps. It was fun to watch and cheer on those girls. Alex was one of the refs and he did an excellent job of not whistling any fouls and only one travel, and that was by accident (girls don't get any fouls and travels are not blown). If you have ever witnessed a ward level basketball game, you know how the girls bunch up together and run back and forth saying "sorry" and "please". But tonight we caught a gem of a thing that you will never hear at a boys' basketball game....EVER. One of our girls was defending the opposing team player who was running across the court dribbling the whole time. Our girl had a hard time keeping up and finally yelled at the girl she was defending:"Stop running so fast!" I thought Rod was going to die laughing. Alex's prediction of the final score was 8-2 (has happened before). We were not able to win the game but come very close with 42-34. Katie S. was on fire throwing in 3-pointers. That's pretty good with no practice and never seen the own team members before. Next game is next Thursday. Can hardly wait.

That is hilarious. Um sweetie, that is the point to run fast!! Gotta love it! Can't wait to see you guys on Super bowl Sunday!! I am pretty sure we will be keeping the trophy at our house for another year!!

Your ward girls have obviously never played with any of our family! I don't think "please" would be allowed on a gibson/larsen/walker court!

That's too funny. I thought you were going to say something like, "What color is your lip gloss? I love it!," or soemthing like that as they were running down the court. That's classic. And I can just picture Rod getting the biggest kick out of it.

Oh and, um, I see that on Brooke's blog you say you are taking the trophy home this year. I don't think so. We will be taking it home. You forget that my chances are great because I have four thousand kids.:)
