Poop is Home

"Poop is Home"? What? That is certainly a curious title for this entry. I will explain towards the end of this weekend report.

Friday:
About 9-10 years ago I used to work in SLC for a computer training company, PPI. Ever since then, certain co-workers (without spouses) get together every six months for a dinner reunion. So, on Friday night, we had our bi-annual reunion at Fashion Place Olive Garden. We had SO much fun, once again. The people in the nearby tables were seemingly bothered by our loud jokes and laughter. But, who cares. Too bad they didn't have as much fun as we did. We decided that we can't wait six months for the next reunion, so the next one will be in 3 months, and this time we are going bowling, then dinner.

Here are Wendy, Dale and Joyce. Notice the drink in front of Dale. This is how the ordering went:
Dale:"Do you have Piña Coladas?"
Waitress:"Yes, we do."
Dale:"Virgin?" and points to the waitress.
Waitress looks baffled because she thinks Dale just asked her if she was a virgin.
Dale:"I mean, virgin Piña Colada."
Waitress:"Yes, we do."
We all bust out laughing when the poor waitress leaves.

Saturday:

Alex had his last soccer game of the season on Saturday. Tournaments start on Tuesday.

Even though it was a beautiful and sunny morning, it was, once again, freezing by the lake. Here we are all bundled up with Katie.

Future soccer star, Maya (Heather's daughter).

Saturday Night:
My old bishop and his wife from Finland have been visiting the States for the last 1 1/2 months. Their last stopover is in Utah, and we called them up and took them to dinner on Saturday night. They had never had sushi, or eaten food with chopsticks, so it was all new to them. According to them, they liked it a lot.

Sunday:
Got an early start and drove to Layton for Mike and Tai's baby blessing. Isaak was getting blessed. Great blessing, good food at the brunch (Alex couldn't get enough of the bacon, I couldn't stop eating the orange bread and donuts, Rod had fruit (yes, he has lost 20 lbs.).
BUT on the way to the blessing, we drove under a bridge on US89 that had a chain link fence on it. What we thought was a Welcome Home Elder... done with plastic cups nicely on the fence, it turned out that somebody had a fun sense of humor and changed the whole wording, and spelled:"Poop is Home". As you can imagine, we laughed.
After the blessing, we drove home through Daybreak, which is a new area southwest of Salt Lake. Beautiful houses and parks all over. The new temple is being built there too.

Daybreak temple being built.

It was a busy but fun weekend.

I loved this post! I think I gained about twenty pounds just reading about the yummy food (sushi not included - Gag). But the Olive Garden, donuts, rolls, fruit, oh yummy! I get in so much trouble at Olive Garden. Love that place - and I loved your drink story from there. Classic! Must have been an innocent little Mormon waitress. Funny! You should have taken a picture of her face!

That temple is going up fast - man, the church doesn't waste time. I love it! I can't wait to see it!

I'm glad poop made it home safe.

Marja!!! I can't believe I didn't know you had left a comment on my blog until now ... I haven't been getting e-mail updates from blogger when people comment on my blog for some reason. I figured it out yesterday so took some time to go back and read comments that had been left and found yours - WHAT A TREAT!!! I think I've spent an hour looking and reading through your life (and the life of your family) over the past several months. You all look so fantastic - not a day older than I remember you :) I'm thrilled to know where to find you in the blogosphere and am so excited to reconnect with you all. It really is crazy because I was thinking about all of you no more than 2 weeks ago - hadn't gotten a Christmas card from the Petersens this year so got me wondering about them which led me to think of you guys. THANK YOU for taking the time to peek at my life and let me know where to find you!!! P.S. When are you going to be in Maui? We are going in June (for our very first "real" trip without kids)!!! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all of you!

Love the Pina Colada story. How hilarious! I so wish I could have had sushi with you guys. I'm dying for it.

I'm so jealous of Rod losing weight. I've been running and lifting weights and nothing is happening. Oh yeah. I have to quit eating.

Hey I am glad that Alex enjoyed the bacon, you the donuts and orange rolls, and Rod the fruit!! If that is all it takes to get you up here we will do it anytime!! Good times as always with the Larsens. Let us know if you find something in Daybreak, it might make it slightly more enticing!! Maybe Alex could change my boys bum!! Wink Wink!! I just love that kid!!
