Basketball Tournament 10/1/11
BYU vs. Utah State Football Game 9/30/11
Last Friday night we ventured to the LaVell Edwards Stadium at BYU to witness a rivalry football game. Utah State from Logan came to town to claim another victory over BYU. Last year we were in Logan watching the game and left really early because we got beat so badly. We were hoping that we could beat Utah State this time.
And we did. Final score 27-24. We scored at the 11th second left in the game in the 4th quarter. Sweet Victory.

Beautiful mountains and a stadium packed with people.

MV High School Homecoming Dinner
Mountain View High School Homecoming was on Saturday. Alex had volunteered me to cook the Homecoming dinner for 14 couples....that's 28 people. He wanted it to be a 4-course dinner. As previously I have proved that I can't say "no" to my son. So, there I was, slaving over the stove all day since 7:30 on Saturday morning. I had a clear vision how this dinner was going to look like and taste like. The dinner was set to begin between 8pm and 8:30pm, which it did. Everything was ready by the time the 12 couples (2 couples went somewhere else) walked into the park. Rod had decorated the canopies and the tables so beautifully and it was such a pretty sight.
Everything turned out exactly like I visioned. The kids loved everything about it and they had a great time in our park. Luckily the weather was perfect (85 F), no mosquitos and the park sprinklers didn't come on in the middle of the dinner. Bonus!

Alex is dressed up and ready to go pick up his date, Emma Roden.

Homecoming Dance Answer from Emma
Homecoming Dance is tomorrow, Saturday night. Tradiotionally here in Utah, the boys ask girls to the dance in many various creative ways.
Alex's invitation to Emma was a poster that said "Now that you have walked the ground that I kissed on, will you go to Homecoming with me?". Emma's front porch and front lawn was covered with candy kisses.

Emma's answer to Alex says: "Hail" yes I will go with you!! Sorry for the delay (she took her sweet time with the answer...I think about 3 weeks. The poster was covered with pebbled ice (like hail). Very creative.
For the Saturday day date, the 24 person group of kids will first go tandem biking up the canyon, then at night, dinner at our house/park (who is cooking? ME) and then they go to the dance.
