5:30pm on Monday evening
Jorge asked me to take a picture at 5:30pm last night because it was so dark already. He has never experienced such darkness so early in the day. And it will get even darker, earlier.

Zija Convention in Salt Lake City
This weekend Rod's company, Zija, is having an international convention at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City.
Last night we had the formal night with the award ceremony. There was so much energy and it is so great to be part of something this exciting.

Banner outside the Salt Palace welcoming all the distributors.

Zija sign outside the Grand Ballroom.

The stage set-up. It was amazing and beautiful. When the distributors walked in, they were in awe.

Sleep clinic or dentist
I went to the dentist this morning and while I was waiting forever (very unusual) in the lobby for my turn to get my teeth cleaned, I was watching this older woman sleep in the chair while she was waiting for her turn to go in. Finally they called her in, and I was left behind. Then came my turn and I was sitting in my comfy dentist chair, and all of a sudden I hear this weird noise. It sounded like somebody snoring, but I thought, I'm sure that is not it. It must be some tool cleaning device that has a low murmuring sound. After half an hour I was finished with my appointment and I was waiting for our wonderful doctor Reed Robinson to come and check me out and consult me on my request for new veneers so I can have a more beautiful smile and a possible root canal, and I kept hearing the sound again. I looked back and saw the same woman, who was snoozing in the lobby earlier, sprawled out on the dentist chair, with the gas nozzle on her nose and just snoring like any good man (Rod, Steve, Craig, Greg etc.) might snore. I asked Reed if this, in fact, was a sleep clinic or a dentist. He said that she likes to come to the dentist, put on the gas and go to sleep before she is being worked on.
Nubian Princess Story
I took Alex and Elle last night to see "Aida" at the Hale Center Theater. I had received a bad review from my co-worker, and walked in with the notion that this will be the most boring musical ever. At intermission, 1 1/2 hours later I thought: "What? It's intermission already!" I loved it. The music was so powerful. Never trust anybody's review about anything until you have seen it yourself.

Lazy days of Fall
This bush is on the left side of our garage. In the summer it is just a boring green bush but come fall, it turns into a burning red color. It is gorgeous.

Friday night Liz came over on the way to Logan. She wanted to have a late/early birthday dinner with us. She turned 33 yestereday. Happy Birthday, Liz! We went to P.F. Changs for dinner. It was yummy.

Saturday morning we drove Jorge to Ivory Ridge Tennis club where he started his trip to Vegas to a "Great Pumpkin" tournament. After that we drove to Alpine and Highland in the search of a new house. Yes, we are house hunting. Found a great $1.3 million dollar house that is move-in ready...just missing the 1.3.
After Alex was able to drive the car around the Alpine neighborhoods, we headed back home so Rod and Alex can go to the BYU-UNLV football game while I decided to cook and clean and bake. Didn't do any of it but layed on the bed and watched the football game instead. BYU won. Lucky!
We got invited to a surprise party of Steve V. on Saturday night. It was a fun party with lots of treats. This is where I was supposed to bake for but I decided that we would take a box of donuts there instead. Others had baked. Did I feel ashamed or guilty? Not one bit.
Sunday we got news from Vegas that Jorge had won the first game and lost the second one. Consolation game today at 11am. If he wins that game, he continues to play in the losers bracket. Good luck, Jorge!
What a lazy weekend. Got nothing accomplished. Now gearing up for a busy week. Yes, I'm bracing myself.
